Social Responsibility - Adolescent Health Care

Social Responsibility - Adolescent Health Care

Corporate Social Responsibility (4th):

PCS conducted its 4th CSR program on 24.12.2014 on awareness on personal hygiene among adolescent girls in the community. The program attended by a general physician of the region. This program was conducted in Dhaka’s slum area with 50 of adolescent girls.

Health and hygiene education programs are especially important for adolescents in both Rural Villages & urban slums, as they are at risk of many diseases, because of poor sanitation, unclean water, and lack of personal hygiene.

Girls are particularly vulnerable to these factors, especially due to poor menstrual health. Poor menstrual health, in the form of using unsanitary solutions to get through the menstrual period, is often due to poor access to information about menstruation. Therefore, to improve health in rural areas and urban slums, intervention programs with hygiene promotion remain important.

For this purpose PCSB contributed towards these 50 adolescent girls in association with the organization named “Nari Maitree”. This contribution by PCSB will surely have a positive and immense impact on the underprivileged adolescent girls who are mainly living in slum area and not conscious about their sound health.
